The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones

This time, I shall tell you about an adaptation film, The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones. This film maybe will be an amazing film because there are a lot of fans in the world either for the novel and for the film. Cassandra Clare, as an author of this novel, never imagined that her novels will be success like this. Also, she never imagined that her novel will become to a film. But, the special things in this film are, the director and the crew are great to visualizing the story into a scene, also the cast are magic. Why did I say ‘magic’? Because magicly the story is made for them, especially physically. Even, Lily Collins who is played as Clary Fray, the main character in CoB, said that she is one of CoB’s book fans. And, fyi, she never be casted for this film.

Cassie (Cassandra Clare) has written Shadowhunter’s Chronicles and CoB is one of them. Shadowhunter’s Chronicles have been apart into 5 parts. They are The Infernal Devices (TID), TLH (not published yet), The Mortal Instruments (TMI), The Dark Artifices (TDA), and TWP (also no published yet). The stories are from the different time and places, start with TID which take the Victorian era in London, TLH take era after the Victorian, TMI take the 21 century (also the sequel after that) in New York City. Beside that, she, with her friends, have made an extention story about one of characters in Shadowhunter’s Chronicles, Magnus Bane, but it has still not published in a book form yet.

Back to the film. Harald Zwart, as the director, has give us an amazing film. We can see it through trailers which have been published few times ago. Even, also he will be a director of City of Ashes, the next title after CoB. I shall tell you a short information about synopsis, cast, and crew below.

Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.
